Small Royal Navy ships occasionally visit Sharpness and/or
pass up the canal to Gloucester on goodwill visits.
HMS Tracker and HMS Raider (pictured) These two Archer class fast patrol vessels, crewed by students from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, made a goodwill visit to Gloucester in July 2006. On the way up the canal from Sharpness, the officers entertained the Mayor and Sheriff of Gloucester. |
